Tournament Rules

Tournament Directors are to consider the best interest of the game and fairness as the top priority in the decision-making process. Unusual circumstances can, on occasion, dictate that the technical interpretation of the rules be ignored in the interest of fairness. The Tournament Director's decision is final.

Please adhere to all poker etiquette such as splashing the pot, information about your hand, no string bets, or straddle betting, touching of another player's chips or cards (except Dealer, when appropriate), excessive yelling, cursing, or playing out of turn.

All players will be able to sign up for scheduled tournaments 1 hour before start time. Seat assignments will be given before play starts.  As long as a seat is available Players will be allowed to sign up to 5 minutes past the start tournament at the cost of 1000 chip value.  If the tables are full, the late Player will be added to a waiting list. They will be seated as a seat becomes available before the end of the second blind period. After that point there will be no new players seated for that session. Players who were on the waiting list but not able to play will have the first opportunity to play in the bonus-game.

Players who cannot stay for the full tournament will not be allowed to play.  Players who announce they need to leave will do so by contacting the Director and surrender all chips.  Surrendered chips will be split between players of the table IF the table has not been broke down in any way. (i.e.; players moved to or from the table). If players have been moved the chips are dead and will be removed.

Minimum age to play is 21.

Players will all start with 12,000 in chips. (10-100's, 6-500's, 3-1000's, 1-5000) Blinds will rise according to the blind schedule.

All ACE HIGH tournaments are Freeze Out format of No-Limit Texas Hold'Em.

The English-only rule will be enforced during the play of hands

A player who wants to use a cellular phone must step away from the table.

There will be no foreign chips on the table except for a maximum of one card cap (protector).

Once a player has lost all their chips, they cannot re-buy back into the tournament, but are eligible to play in the second session.

To determine the first dealer position of each table.  The player with the highest valued card will start the deal. In the event that two or more players draw the same valued card. Those Players will be dealt another card until one card value is higher than the other.  Suits will not be used to determine Dealer.

At Final Table the Tournament Director will become the designated Dealer, when there are 7 players left  the 'Button' will be decided by a drawing for high card by the players at the final table

When two players are left at the table the 'Button' will always be small blind.

The acting dealer must shuffle the deck at least three times. The player to the right of the dealer has the option to cut ,if cut it refused it passes to the next player to the right. The deck must be cut. Cards will be cut only once, taking the top half ( a min. of 3 cards) and placing it onto the cut card then placing the remaining cards on top.

The deal will rotate clockwise.  Each player will assume this position in turn.

Players are required to post their blinds prior to the dealing of cards.

When a player is absent from the table for any reason, their blind will be posted by the dealer.

If the player has not returned to the table in time for their turn, the cards are mucked by the dealer.

When a player is absent the dealer will always deal the absent player in. When the action gets to this player, that players hand will be mucked. (The dealer will always deal to the chips not the persons sitting at the table)

The small blind is posted by the player immediately to the left of the dealer. The big blind is posted by the player to the left of the small blind.

New players to a table will be dealt a hand, unless the seat they are taking is between the small blind and the dealer position. In these situations the player must wait for the dealer button to pass.

When equal amount or more players join a table, a new dealer will be drawn.

The dead button rule applies. This means that  whoever had the small blind the previous hand will receive the button regardless of whether the player is still at the table or not (if not, the previous dealer will deal again).  This will then force the blinds to become small blind, big blind, big blind.  The next hand the blinds will be small blind, small blind, big blind.  The following hand will then return to normal.  (Barring no other players have been knocked out of a blind position).  Players will not be allowed to stay and deal in order to keep the blinds straight.  If you have any questions about the blinds it is always better to call the Director than to mess up the blinds.

All bets and raises pre and post flop must be equal or greater than the big blind or current bet.

Minimum bet for the Turn and the River is double the big blind or double the current bet.

When raising, a player must either put the amount of the raise out in one motion or state the raise amount. By stating the word "raise", a player protects his right to raise, but the raise must be made in one additional motion unless the amount is stated.

If a Player does not have enough chips to place a blind, that player is ALL-IN. If a player does not have enough chips to call a bet, the player can go ALL-IN.  If this occurs, the other players with chips will continue the hand and bet into a side pot.

Each side pot will be split as a separate pot. They will not be mixed together before they are split.

When a Player goes ALL-IN and the bet is called by only one player, those Players will turn their cards face up for the Showdown and continue the hand.

All cards will be turned face up once all action is complete.

Rabbit hunting is allowed for the River card only.

Once a Player has lost all their chips they are required to leave the table. Players that have lost their chips, friends, family members or other spectators WILL NOT be allowed to sit at empty seats.  Spectators will be allowed to watch from behind the players seated at the table.

If two or more Players are eliminated on the same hand, the player with most chips at the start of the hand will finish in the higher position.  If chips are of equal amount the player with the best hand finishes in the higher position.

Odd chips: The odd chip(s) will go to the winning player closest to and left of the dealer.

A player who exposes his cards during  play may incur a penalty

If any community cards are displayed out of turn, betting is frozen.  Players will turn over their cards and the remaining community cards played out.

If a Player is dealt a card face up the dealer will continue to deal each position their hole cards.  And the last card is dealt to the player who's card was face up.  The card that was dealt face up will become the first burn card. (All players must see the card that was dealt face up then the card should turned face down to the burn pile, this card is now the first burn card and the next 3 cards are the Flop).

If the card dealt face up is eather the dealer, small blind or big blind it will be a miss deal and the cards will be dealt over.

The dealer is responsible for keeping the burn cards and muck cards in separate piles.  If at anytime a player's hand is either accidentally or purposely thrown in the muck pile the cards are dead and cannot be played in that hand.

No one can turn over any of the burn or muck cards at anytime during the hand or after the hand. Players are not allowed to turn over another players cards at any time.

The only player that may touch the chips in the pot is the acting dealer. If you need to make change from the pot, state your intentions and get permission from the acting dealer.

The cards will read themselves as to the winner of the hand and not any players.  Disputes to the decision will be ruled by the Director.

ACE HIGH Staff reserves the right to change the blind schedule due to time restraints.
